Licensing

With some exceptions (see below), anyone may publish free or commercial material based upon and/or declaring compatibility with a dungeon game” without express written permission from the publisher, Loot The Room, as long as they adhere to the following terms:

  1. The art and text of a dungeon game” or supplements and adventures published for it by Loot The Room/Chris Bissette may not be used verbatim, including for the purposes of translation, without explicit permission from me.
  2. The mechanisms, concepts, and game rules of a dungeon game” may be reused freely.
  3. Your product cannot use the A Dungeon Game, Loot The Room, or After School Revival logo unless you have explicit permission from me.
  4. You’re not allowed to imply that this is an official product or that I endorse, sponsor, or am otherwise affiliated with you in any way unless we’ve got a special arrangement.
  5. You can’t make NFTs or utilise art created by generative processes trained unlicensed, copyright-protected works (including but not limited to Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and Adobe Generative Fill).

Loot The Room takes no responsibility for any legal claims against your product.

Any legal disputes, controversies, or claims related to this license shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom and be settled by a UK court.

If your product declares compatibility with a dungeon game you must state the following visibly in your publication’s legal text and on any websites from which a commercial product is sold:

[product name] is an independent production by [publisher name] and is not affiliated with Chris Bissette or Loot The Room. It is published under the A Dungeon Game” Third Party License. A Dungeon Game” is copyright Chris Bissette and Loot The Room.

Exceptions

The above license terms do not apply to anybody who:

  1. Personally or as a business entity has an annual gross turnover in excess of $100,000.
  2. Intends to make use of Kickstarter or any other form of crowdfunding.

If either or both of these conditions apply to you then you must contact me to reach an agreement before publishing content. If you have any doubt about whether your intended sales method constitutes crowdfunding”, please contact me first for clarification.
